Then consider joining Twin Valley’s Academic WorldQuest team!

Academic World Quest is an exciting flagship program of the World Affairs Council (WAC) that engages high school students in a team competition of knowledge about world affairs. The local teams vie to be able to compete at the national competition in Washington, D.C. Teams are composed of 4 students in grades 9-12 with one alternate. There are 10 categories with 10 multiple choice questions per category which the team answers as a group. The national office sends references for each category and all questions are taken from these references. This year two Twin Valley teams will be competing in the regional competition in February/March. In addition to a trophy, the team that wins the regional competition is given a generous donation by the local WAC organization to offset expenses for the national event in Washington D.C. at the end of April.

The topics are annually announced in September and the study guide will be available on the World Affairs Council main website: www.worldaffairscouncils.org. To prepare, you will need to read the assigned materials on your own. We will meet during school (i.e. TVHS flex periods, half days) and after school to discuss the different topics. TVHS teachers and administrators will facilitate these sessions.
